In our label printing plant, production has been optimised from an environmental perspective. We take into account environmentally relevant aspects for the printing of your self-adhesive labels.

With our HP Indigo printing machines we print in a CO2-reduced manner.  Unlike offset printing, digital printing does not need extended/complex set-ups of the printing presses, meaning we produce hardly any waste.

Another advantage of digital printing is that it does not require chemically treated plates. Moreover, setting up the machine for digital printing is quick, so the machine only runs to produce.  This not only saves time, but also power and material.

The use of environmentally friendly electricity from renewable energies by the supplier “Lichtblick” is a matter of course for us.  On request we use FSC-certified, recyclable* or recycled papers and films for your roll labels.

Grass paper* consists of 30% sun-dried grass fibre (hay) and 70% FSC-certified paper. The label is FSC-Mix-certified. Grass paper is made from the rapidly renewable raw material grass, which reduces the consumption of wood and is therefore particularly sustainable. Grass paper also offers further advantages in comparison to conventional paper: Thanks to short transport routes and meadows near the paper mills, CO2 emissions are reduced by up to 50%. Water consumption is also reduced by up to 50%. Grass paper preparation also works without chemicals. At the same time, the material can be used and processed like conventional paper.

The basic principle of grass paper is that harvested grass is first dried and then turned into hay. It is then ground and pressed into pellets. In the factory, the pellets are then dissolved in water. Now the material can be further processed – depending on its later use and area of application – e.g. into packaging, cartons, gift wrap paper or even labels.

It is particularly interesting that grass paper is free of pollutants and allergens. This makes it particularly suitable for products in the food, cosmetics and spirits industries. *The basic material grass paper can be described as compostable.  Although the finished label with adhesive layer does not meet the 90% compostable content required by DIN EN 13432 for the issue of a certificate, the proportion is about 81%.
