“label.co.uk is the first employer that makes me feel like I am seen as an individual and that my mental and physical health are a priority.”
Who are you?
Tell us a little about yourself
My name is Katharina Crusius and I am 29 years old. I’d say that my open-minded attitude and my keen sense of humour make up a large part of my personality. I also like to laugh a lot and loudly – much to my colleagues’ chagrin.
Apart from my passion for laughing, I love everything that’s to do with the spoken or written word. I love to read and can get just as excited about writing too. On top of that, I enjoy going to poetry readings. Painting stories with words is what makes my little heart frolic.
My favourite genres of literature are dystopian fiction, fantasy, and feminist literature – variety keeps me on my toes.
What has your professional
career been like so far?
I have a degree in English and German Language and Literature. During my studies I mostly worked in retail jobs to pay the rent. Working with people was (almost) always something I enjoyed and that built my character.
After I had decided it was time for a change of scenery, I sent out some applications, one of them to label.co.uk. It was a pretty spontaneous decision and I am extremely happy and grateful I made it. I started working part-time in marketing and have been employed here full time since finishing my master’s degree.
How Did Your Path Lead You to label.co.uk?
After finishing my bachelor’s degree I knew I didn’t want to work in retail anymore. So I started looking into different possibilities and doing some research on what I could do with my degree. During this research, I came across a job ad from label.co.uk in which they were looking for a Copywriter in Online Marketing. That was something I could see myself doing, so I applied for the position.
Even in the first job interview, I felt super welcome and really liked the interpersonal vibe. So of course I hoped for positive feedback! And fortunately, I didn’t have to wait long to get just that. They asked me to come work there for a day, to see if I liked the company, get a feel for the people, and see if I was cut out for the work they wanted me to do. It seems they were quite happy with me that day because I was asked to sign a contract only shortly after.
What Is Your Role at label.co.uk and what Does Your Typical Day Look Like?
I am responsible for creating and reviewing the content on our website. That means I maintain our landing pages and optimise them to improve our search engine performance. Apart from that, I prepare posts for our Social Media channels and write blog articles on a regular basis. Recently I have also been put in charge of our monthly newsletter. So now I also write one newsletter a month.
On top of that, I help the other markets we operate in with their newsletters. In this project, I work closely with my international coworkers and give them advice on their strategies and contents, while I also give them insight into metrics such as click rates and open rates. That way I can share both qualitative and quantitative feedback with them as well as contribute to the success of their e-mail strategies. Anyway, with all being said, each day looks a little different for me.
What Is Special about Your Job?
For me, what’s special is that I can mostly work autonomously. This makes me feel like people trust in my work and of course, that’s nice. Moreover, there is always a possibility of receiving further training and education as well as expanding or changing one’s field of responsibilities.
This dynamic work ethic creates an atmosphere that makes me enjoy going to work everyday.
… and label.co.uk as an Employer?
label.co.uk is the first employer that makes me feel like I am seen as an individual and that my mental and physical health are a priority. In my experience that is not a given. This kind of care and appreciation is reflected by the entire team’s relationship with each other. Everyone is respectful, nice and open-minded. This creates an environment in which everyone can just be who they are.

What Has Been Your label.co.uk-Highlight so far?
There have been a couple of highlights! The latest one, however, was our last business trip, where we went to an online marketing exposition at which experts in the field shared their knowledge and insights. These two days held a lot of learning for me. Some of which I could already put into action!
