How Does Offset Printing Work?
Offset printing is an indirect lithographic printing process based on the chemical repulsion of water and oil. The different surface properties ensure that the printing ink adheres only to the areas intended for printing. The non-printing areas are dampened with water, causing them to repel the oil-based ink. Each colour is applied to the label in a separate printing step. Offset printing can be used on both paper and plastic substrates.
