Water-Resistant Labels on Rolls – Individually Printed

Water-resistant labels are usually printed on polypropylene (PP), a polymeric material that does not absorb water. This is how the water-resistant effect is created. These vinyl labels are needed, among other things, because of certain filling and logistics processes. These include, for example, bottle sterilisation or filling. These labels are also suitable for use in extreme environments or for protection against moisture.

Please note: Our labels are not designed to remain submerged underwater for extended periods of time or to be used in a salty marine environment.

Finishing Options

We offer different finishing options for labels:

Blind Embossing

Blind embossing is a classic finishing technique in label printing. It dispenses with colour highlighting and only impresses with a partial deformation of the label material.

Hot Foil Stamping

Need a real eye-catcher? Hot foil stamping is just the thing for you! This luxurious finishing ensures that your products shine at the point of sale.

Relief Embossing

Relief embossing is essentially a combination of blind embossing and hot foil stamping. The process creates a deformation combined with a coloured hot foil.

Digital Spot Varnish

Spot varnish is applied to specific points on the material using a PDF print file. What makes it special is that it does not need customised tools.

Water-Resistant Labels on Paper?

Paper labels can be given extra protection against moisture and everyday wear, but they are not inherently water-resistant.
A protective varnish can help protect paper labels against scuffs, scratches and light exposure to moisture. However, it does not make the paper water-resistant, and prolonged contact with water, condensation or high humidity may still affect the label.
For additional protection, a film lamination can also be applied to paper labels. This helps protect the printed surface against moisture, scuffs and general wear, but it does not make the label itself water-resistant. Please note that a matt film lamination will cover the natural texture of textured papers and may slightly alter their appearance and feel.
For applications where labels are regularly exposed to water, condensation, refrigeration or wet filling processes, film materials such as PP and PE are generally a more suitable choice. They offer significantly better resistance to moisture and perform more reliably in demanding conditions.

Water and Ink – How Does that Work?

We print all custom labels digitally using HP Indigo 6800 technology. This is a commercial-grade printing technology using electro-inks; these will not run under any circumstances. Nor will inks scratch away from the surface of the label when subjected to logistics processes. Therefore, digital printing is particularly well-suited for producing water-resistant labels.

Express Production

Our standard production time is five to seven working days. However, we know that businesses need their custom roll labels faster from time to time. Our express production ensures production within 24 or 48 hours (shipping time not included) for an additional charge. The prerequisite is that we have all the tools and materials needed for your labels in-house and that your artwork is print-ready and error-free. Please note that we reserve the right to temporarily suspend express production in the event of very high workloads.

Proofing Service

Do you need a print proof before you commit to an order for the total print run? We offer different variations of proof printing. This way, you can make sure that your water-resistant labels look as desired and that you are satisfied with the printing result.

Artwork Services

Printable data is an important part of the label printing process. For companies that do not have their own graphic designers or agencies, we offer artwork services. We check your artwork for technical errors depending on the kind of service you choose.
