Chemical Labels

As you probably know, chemical labels need to meet various legal standards to do with:

• the materials they’re printed on
• how they’re printed
• their adhesive properties (for self-adhesive labels).

These standards are part of the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS)—a programme initiated by the United Nations on June 1, 2015 and agreed to internationally. The GHS standards ensure all hazardous goods are identified the same way, and anyone who manufacturers, imports or supplies chemical compounds and substances must follow them.

Chemical labels need to stay adhesive and legible for the life of the container. They need to be resistant to chemical substances so you can always find out what’s inside.

So our roll, self-adhesive and film labels are all made from polypropylene and polyethylene, which fulfil all the hazardous substance labeling requirements.
